The property sits near Cacela Velha, one of the most beautiful villages in the Eastern Algarve, just thirty minutes from Faro Airport and ten minutes from Tavira. A Private Estate in the Eastern Algarve

The property was designed by French architect Pierre-Louis Faloci and sits within a landscape that has been shaped over generations. Lavender borders run alongside stone paths. Fig and citrus trees shade the courtyards. The gardens open onto terraces with long views south towards the coast.

There is no single ceremony spot because there are many. A sunlit lawn framed by olive trees. A covered terrace with arched stone walls. An open clearing among the orchards. Couples work with the landscape rather than against it, and the result is always different.

As evening settles, the grounds transform. Festoon lights through the trees, candles along the stone walls, long tables set beneath the open sky. The estate holds three hundred guests comfortably, yet it feels just as right with thirty.

The Estate

Spaces and Capacity

Quinta do Muro offers several distinct areas that can be arranged to suit your celebration:

Ceremony settings: The south-facing lawn, shaded by mature olive trees, is the most popular choice for an outdoor wedding ceremony. The covered stone terrace and the garden courtyard between Corpus A and B offer alternatives for cooler months, intimate weddings, or sheltered garden wedding celebrations.

Reception and dining — Long tables beneath the trees, a covered terrace for seated dinners, or open-air arrangements across the gardens. The estate can accommodate seated dinners for up to 250 guests and standing receptions for 300 or more. From romantic candlelit suppers to large Algarve wedding celebrations, the layout adapts to your vision.

Cocktails and welcome drinks: The pool terrace, the walled garden, and the orchard clearing each offer a different atmosphere for pre-dinner drinks or a welcome evening.

Nine en-suite rooms are spread across three buildings on the estate. Three master suites, two medium doubles, and four standard doubles. The bridal suite in Corpus A looks out over the gardens towards the sea.

Most couples book the accommodation for three nights: the evening before, the wedding night, and the morning after. Guests wake up on the estate, share breakfast together, and there is no rush to leave. It turns a wedding day into a wedding weekend.

The best weddings here tend to unfold over several days. As an Algarve wedding venue with on-site accommodation, Quinta do Muro is made for a full wedding weekend rather than just a single evening. The estate lends itself to a slower pace, and couples often build a programme of gatherings around the celebration.

Your Wedding Weekend

A welcome gathering for close friends and family. Drinks by the pool, a relaxed supper in the garden. It sets the tone for the days ahead and gives guests a chance to settle into the place.

Ceremony and reception on the estate, arranged however you wish. The venue is yours from morning until the early hours. The day after, a farewell barbecue in the orchard or by the pool. Relaxed, unhurried, and often the part guests remember most fondly.

Quinta do Muro is a venue hire, which means you have full freedom to choose your own caterers, planners, florists, and suppliers. The estate provides the setting. You shape everything else.

Each wedding is priced individually, based on the size of the celebration, the season, and how you choose to use the estate. On-site accommodation, a welcome evening, and a farewell barbecue are available as additions, and many couples build a full wedding weekend around their day.

Getting Here

The estate is located near Cacela Velha in the Eastern Algarve, approximately thirty minutes by car from Faro Airport. The drive east from Faro takes you past salt flats and fishing villages, away from the busier stretches of the coast and into a quieter, less developed part of the region.

Tavira, with its Roman bridge and riverside restaurants, is ten minutes away. The beaches of Cacela Velha and Manta Rota are a short drive south. For guests arriving from abroad, Faro Airport connects directly to most major European cities, with flight times of two to three hours from London, Paris, Amsterdam, and Berlin. This makes Quinta do Muro one of the most accessible luxury wedding venues in Portugal.
